If you think the price of education is expensive consider the cost of ignorance.

I started in Real Estate in 2015 after attending a Fortune Builders Event in Nashville. I was a Navy Recruiter at time. After 3 deployments in 3.5 years, I was ready to exit my military service. After attending the Fortune Builders 2-day event in May 2015. I decided this could be my part of my next chapter.

During the event the focus was Rehabbing and Rentals. I did not have the investment capital for rehabs or rentals or coaching BUT there was a brief segment on wholesaling on the second day. 1200$ course and some software included, Realeflow. I did not have that either but they mentioned applying for a credit card and purchasing the course. So I did. By the time all the software free trials ended it was the end of the year.

One positive came from those first 6 months, networking. I discovered wholesalers, developers and a Real Estate Investors of Nashville.

January 2016 I started door knocking on the weekends. After 3 months of nothing, I got a property under contract. That was proof of concept for me that wholesaling worked. I used that win, to roll into Direct Mail. Adding Direct Mail to networking I closed 2 deals by JV'ing and bringing a buyer and 1 deal from Direct Mail. After closing the Direct Mail deal December 2016, I decided that was my sign to exit the Navy and pursue real estate full time.

January 2017 I became an acquisition manager for a Homevestors Franchisee in the Birmingham Alabama Market. Nearly every weekend from January to April, I made the drive from Nashville to Birmingham to run appointments. After 4 months of frustration I closed 1 deal on Avenue F. I was very frustrated about the process. After a new motor and 2 transmission replacements, I thought "There has to be a better way".

Stay tuned - more to come....
